At the ViaQuest Foundation, our Transition Services team, partners with local, regional and national businesses and school districts to develop and promote Transition-aged youth in the workplace. We provide work experience opportunities that help Transition-aged youth identify career paths and foster independence. Apply today and make a difference in the lives of the students we serve!


Responsibilities may include:

•Support and mentor small groups of high school students to develop skills necessary for entering the workforce, such as professional development and soft skills training.

•Implement on-site work experience program with small groups of high school students.

•Train and supervise students who may have developmental disabilities to acquire the skills needed to perform specific job tasks, work routines and personal life habits.

•Provide evidence-based job coaching and job development strategies and supports for students.

•Assist students in performing their work responsibilities in a way that fosters independence, develop natural supports and help to ensure retention. 

•Provide daily job skills training with a focus on community employment and inclusion. 

•Assess the vocational, social and communication skills required to successfully gain and retain community volunteer experience or independent employment.

•Implement provided curriculum to students.


Requirements for this position include: 

•High school diploma/GED, a four-year degree in social services is preferred (psychology, sociology, education, etc.).

•Experience within the field of special education, developmental disabilities or in a youth-centered field is preferred.

•Knowledge of entry level position in retail, customer service and food service.

•Professional, responsible, mature, and flexible.

•A positive role model for youth.

•Strong decision-making, time-management and verbal/written communication skills required.
